Grand Conclusion of the Seven-Day Special Camp of the National Service Scheme

Gorakhpur: The seven-day special camp of the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized under the aegis of Pt. Harisahay P.G. College, Jaiti-Belghat, concluded successfully at Pt. Harisahay Teaching and Training Institute, Jaiti-Belghat, Gorakhpur.

The program officers, Dr. Umesh Kumar Shukla and Dr. Shailesh Kumar Mishra, addressed the gathering and emphasized that the primary objective of the camp was to instill social awareness, discipline, and a sense of nationalism among students. Throughout the seven-day camp, volunteers actively participated in various activities, contributing to their personality development and gaining hands-on experience in social service.

Key Activities of the Camp

  • Morning Yoga Sessions: The camp started each day with a yoga session, which benefited the volunteers mentally and physically.
  • Cleanliness Drive: The volunteers took part in a cleanliness drive in the school premises and surrounding areas.
  • Cultural Programs: Various performances, including folk dance, drama, poetry recitation, and group singing, were organized.
  • Inspirational Speeches: Guest speakers highlighted the importance of social service and the role of NSS in nation-building.

Closing Ceremony & Award Distribution

The chief guest for the closing ceremony was Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Khan (Department of English, Pt. Harisahay P.G. College, Jaiti-Belghat, Gorakhpur), and the special guest was Dr. Sachindra Kumar (Department of Political Science, Pt. Harisahay P.G. College, Jaiti-Belghat, Gorakhpur).

In his address, the chief guest emphasized how NSS plays a crucial role in developing a spirit of service, teamwork, and discipline among volunteers, helping them become responsible citizens. Presiding over the event, College Principal Dr. Sarvesh Dubey stated that NSS volunteers are the future assets of the nation, capable of bringing positive social changes.

During the award distribution ceremony, Vishal and Naincy were honored as the Best Volunteers for their outstanding performance in the camp. Additionally, Sucheta Chauhan and Shaheen Ansari, winners of the inter-district Rangoli competition at the university’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, who had been previously felicitated by the Honorable Governor, were also presented with certificates of appreciation.

Program Officer Dr. Shailesh Mishra guided the volunteers in the areas of discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills and encouraged them to stay connected with social causes in the future.

The program was successfully conducted by Mr. Avnindra Shukla, and the event concluded with the National Anthem. The successful execution of the program was made possible with the valuable contributions of Dr. Harishchandra Singh (Head of Sociology Department), Dr. Kamla Kant Mishra (Head of Hindi Department), Pranav Shukla, Ratnakar Pandey, Krishna Mohan Maurya, Kaushal Kumar Pathak, Sachindra Kumar, and Mrityunjay Tripathi.
