A case of obtaining passports using fake documents and dual identities has emerged in Gorakhpur’s Gagaha police station area. The police investigation led to the arrest of three individuals who fraudulently acquired two passports each by altering their names, their parents’ names, and birth dates.
Gagaha police registered a case against the accused—Ajay Yadav (Gagaha Kotha), Jeevan Singh Yadav (Nevada, Gagaha), and Sudhir Yadav (Karnarai Belkur)—and arrested them. All three were presented in court on Thursday.
Accused No. 1: Ajay Kumar Yadav
Ajay Kumar Yadav, a resident of Kotha village, Gagaha police station, fraudulently obtained two different passports.
- In the first passport, his details were: Ajay Kumar Yadav, son of Ram Chander Yadav, mother Malti Devi, born on October 16, 1976.
- In the second passport, he changed his details to: Ajay Kumar, son of Ram Chander, mother Malti, born on June 2, 1971.
Accused No. 2: Jeevan Singh Yadav
Jeevan Singh Yadav, a resident of Nevada village, Post Belkur, Gagaha police station, also created two passports using forged documents.
- In the first passport, he listed himself as Jeevan Kumar, son of Om Prasad, mother Gudiya, born on February 6, 1997.
- In the second passport, his details changed to Jeevan Singh Yadav, son of Om Prakash Yadav, mother Guddi Devi, born on June 29, 1994.
Accused No. 3: Sudhir Yadav
Sudhir Yadav, a resident of Karnarai village, Post Belkur, Gagaha police station, followed the same fraudulent process.
- In the first passport, his details were Sudhir Kumar, son of Ram Gopal, mother Ishrawati Devi, born on July 7, 1997, and his address was Bhagat Chauraha, Tara-Mandal, New Shivpuri Colony, Ramgarhtal.
- In the second passport, his name changed to Sudhir Yadav, son of Gopal Yadav, mother Ishrawati Devi, born on May 20, 1998, with an address in Karnarai, Post Belkur, Gagaha police station.
Police Action
The Gagaha police have registered cases against all three individuals for obtaining passports through forged documents and arrested them. SP South Jitendra Kumar Tomar stated that the police are keeping a close watch on such activities and further investigations are underway.
Gorakhnath Police Had Also Caught Two Fraudsters
Earlier, on March 10, the Gorakhnath police arrested two individuals, Vishal Singh and his associate Harendra Pratap, for passport fraud. Vishal had been running this illegal business since 2015, expanding his network through agents in villages. He charged up to ₹5,000 per passport.
Vishal and Harendra had created a fake passport for a person named Rajesh Singh, which led to an investigation that also exposed negligence by police officers. Three officers were suspended for verification lapses.
